Acapulco Chair JACARANDA & Oaxaca Chair N'02
June 19, 2022

Our two newest models - the Acapulco chair JACARANDA, as well as the 2nd series of the Oaxaca Chairs - are so strongly inspired by the Mexican nature and culture as hardly any other models of our classic Acapulco Chairs.

ACAPULCO CHAIR JACARANDA

The JACARANDA model is inspired by a trumpet tree that is particularly common in Mexico. In spring, the flowers bloom an eclectic purple. This purple can be found in the battle of the new lounge chair. In autumn, the leaves of the rosewood tree turn a strong orange, which is symbolized by the frame of the Acapulco Chair Jacaranda. In April, not only Mexico City sinks in purple-green. Then the rosewood trees unfold their full bloom. On many of his trips to the production site of the Acapulco Design Chairs in Mexico City, Managing Director Benjamin Caja was inspired by the special jacaranda blossom. The idea of designing a corresponding Acapulco armchair has been around for several years.

OAXACA CHAIR N´02

The OAXACA Chair N'02 model is inspired and named by the region of the same name in Mexico. Acapulco Design presented the first Oaxaca Chair model in spring 2021. Unlike the minimalist-covered original (Acapulco Chair), the new lounge chair comes with a strong wicker structure in a colorful mix of colors in the Acapulco Design range. The state of Oaxaca represents the colorful and eclectic lifestyle of Mexico like no other. The colors and patterns of this model reflect this way of life. Unlike its predecessor, the Oaxaca Chair N'02 picks up on lighter and more feminine tones. With this, Acapulco Design wants to refer to the colorful clothes of the strong women in the state of Oaxaca, who often play a very important role in the social cohesion in the towns and villages.
